Same issue as above. New plugs last week of January 2022, insist on updates and fail every time. Tried all the suggestions above. The update listed as available is 53, “time of day” says I have to update to use the feature.

My 4 plugs arrived and I finished setting up 3 of the 4. The 4th plug will not updated to the newest firmware. The first 3 have been updated to v1.2.0.206. It says it’s firmware is v1.2.0.53. So every time I open up in the app it says Firmware Update Required. Even when it’s unplugged. This is annoying. I’ve tried updating the plug 5 times already and it says to try updating again.

My Wyze plug 2021 is on firmware 1.2.0.126. The Wyze app says a firmware update is available, and I have attempted to update it numerous times; however, the update fails repeatedly. The plug still works as normal and can be controlled via the app. I have power cycled it several times.

Hi @rhousen thank you for replying that pushed me to try again and it finaly worked but not in a flawless way. Yes I have a 2021 version with a key symbol printed in the back of the plug. What I did: 1- I started the firmware update only to be told again by the app that it did not work and if I want to try again. 2- I deleted the device from the Wyze app. 3- Unplugged the plug from the outlet and replugged it. 3- I restarted the setup steps as if it was a new device. I turned off cellular data. Left on Bluetooth and WIFI. Then it worked on iphone 11.
