Do transfer credits count towards GPA UMN? ›

Only those credits earned from the University of Minnesota will be used in calculating the cumulative GPA. However, the transfer credits from the other institution may be used to fulfill degree requirements, where allowed by the department, college, or campus.

Your transfer courses will appear on your official academic history transcript, but the grades you received in the classes will not count toward any GPA or class ranking.

All transfer students must meet or exceed the following requirements: Minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0 (Some majors have higher requirements) Successful completion of at least 75% of all attempted college coursework.

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities accepts 46.0% transfer applicants, which is competitive. To have a shot at transferring into University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, you should have a current GPA of at least 3.71 - ideally you're GPA will be around 3.86. In addition, you will need to submit standardized test scores.

Calculate your total grade points achieved by adding together the individual grade points. Calculate your GPA by dividing your total grade points achieved by the total credits attempted.

The cumulative transfer GPA is calculated by dividing the grade points earned in all transferable coursework by the cumulative transferable graded (A-F) credit hours.

Please note that only credit is transferred. Grades from transfer credit do not transfer to the University of Houston grade point average (GPA).

General Policies on Transfer Credit

A grade of "C" or better must be earned in all courses transferred to Baylor; this coursework does not alter the Baylor grade point average. A maximum of seventy (70) semester hours may be transferred from a community/junior college.
